MALGHE TOUR
Recommended tour for anyone looking to spend a day immersed in the mountains, alpine pastures, traditional mountain huts, and breathtaking views.
The route is a loop that starts and ends in the Pianezze area.
Like all our tours, the Malghe Tour is also created and organized according to the client’s needs and preferences, both in terms of route and duration.
Usually, the tour starts in the morning from Pianezze and begins with the climb up Mount Barbaria, followed by Mount Cesen, passing through meadows and forests interspersed with numerous mountain huts still used today for grazing and cheese production.
Mount Cesen is a massif in the Venetian Prealps, located on the northwestern edge of the province of Treviso, directly above Valdobbiadene. It is the first mountain encountered (heading east) after the Piave River breaks through the mountain chain, connecting the Valbelluna with the Veneto-Friuli plain. Its highest peak reaches 1,570 meters above sea level.
Being the first elevation above the surrounding hills and plains, the views are truly breathtaking — and on the clearest days, you can even see the Venice Lagoon.
Once you reach the summit of Mount Cesen, you’ll have lunch at a mountain hut before continuing the scenic loop that winds through the wild northern side of the mountain massif, eventually returning to the starting point.
